Created by French artist Eva Jospin, Panorama is an installation that combines sculpture and architecture. It is the first contemporary artwork exhibited in the Louvre’s prestigious and historical Cour Carrée.
Reflecting the magnificent stony architecture of the Louvre palace, this decagonal construction glorifies its environment by the play of reflections from its mirror-polished steel facades.
Once inside this architecture, you feel disconnected from the outside world and you step in a 360° panorama intimate nature made from cardboard echoing the world of forests and caves. An imaginary landscape that makes you travel in space and time inside a rural madness that expands your imagination. Eva Jospin transformed cardboard, a material rarely used, into a magical universe by the juxtaposition and overlay of multiple layers that have been cut, sculpted and shaped to create this stunning mood.
Panorama was exclusively designed and exhibited for the first time in the Louvre’s “Cour Carrée” and will now be on tour in several cities throughout the world, transporting its visitors with this “wandering built world”.
A spectacular work that is timeless and universal!
Panorama an architecture artwork… a venture in a world outside of the world.
